you've produced some good work James. the cover is just a bit dull. issue one of a magazine should really attract attention. everything is a little safe. you need to have a more dynamic inage and the colour scheme needs work. the black and white thing isn't really doing it.
try a colour image and make everything a bit brighter.
make the text on the page a bit smaller and position the text about the main interview in a prominent and easily readable place.
